???"Child of the West"???

Hello fellow Googlie bears, today I will be interpreting ways I do and do not identify with "child of the west"!!!

First I would like to talk about what "child of the west" means to me. When hear that term I think of the west coast, the ocean, surfers/shred the gnar, laid back, and family. I also think of back when the people were conquering and establishing the missions.

I think I do fit the term "child of the west." I love the ocean and all the things it provides us like surfing and the beach. I am a major water sports person and I have to say I shred at boogie boarding. I also love the warm weather that the west coast gives us because I do not think I could live in the cold for very long. The west coast is also a very popular and interesting place that always has new things to offer you. I am always looking for new things, so I think the west provides well for me. Life is not very rushed here like say, New York. Life just seems very rushed and chaotic there and I feel like on the west coast it is pretty chill, you get me man?! Most of my family lives very close to me, so that is why the west coast feels very homey to me. I don't feel like I am classified as a "child of the west" when the people were establishing missions along California. Life was probably very hard and different back then. I just feel like I have adapted to all new ways of life and have moved on from the past. Well there you have it folks!! Are you a "child of the west?? Don't forget to leave a gnarly comment below!!!!
Best wishes, Julia

Nobody Can Drag Me Down!!!

Hello readers, I have recently made an identity mask and today I will be sharing with you what the items I put on it mean !!

My first item I put on the front of my mask was a soccer ball. Soccer is one of my favorite sports and that is what most people know me for. I put some small horses on the front as well because I love to horseback ride and that is a big part of my life. I put shells from the sea because I love the beach, but they also represent that I am very adventurous. I put a ribbon that says "champion" on it because I have won many ribbons from horse shows. It also represents how much I travel because the horse shows are not always local. I put a picture of Harry Styles on the front of my mask because he is my idol/god and I love his music and him very much!!! I put a feather because I believe it symbolizes the freedom to be whoever you want. I put multiple words such as smile, friends, lol, and clumsy. I put these because these are the things that not only people see me as but what I see myself as sometimes. I put a necklace because even though I love sports and to get dirty, I can still have a girly side. I also put sequences on the front because well I have major sass and your just gonna have to live with it! I put a heart and a star because I feel that with love comes a bright future.

The back of my mask is some things that people don't know about me. First of all, I have many pictures of my friends. My friends are really important to me and I don't know what I would do without them. I have a pendant from a state cup soccer tournament. This always reminds me how far I have already come and how much farther I have to accomplish. I have a penny on the back because I always feel lucky and that may be because I have little Irish in me. I have a bracelet that is from the hotel I went to in Hawaii. It symbolizes how much I like to travel and how much fun I had on that trip. I also have a ghost sticker with its tongue sticking out. This just shows how weird and goofy I am. I also put the words dance, funny, and sister. When I'm alone I may just have a little dance party in my room and some people might not know that I have a sister. I am always making myself laugh, so I think I am a very funny person lol! I put a bracelet with a horseshoe on it, this just shows the love I have for my horse, Gabbano. I have tape that is pink, black, and white. This just shows that life can be great and a little difficult at times. Finally, I have a purple shell because you always need some beauty in your life.
This is just some of my identity and I bet there is much more to go around. This is me!!!

When I'm Old and Grey and Can't Partay!!!!

Hey fellow bloggers, how are we doing today? Today I am taking on the task of summing up what my grandchildren will think of me when I am old. What will my identity legacy be?

As I grow older I am constantly thinking about what I will be, who I will become, and what mark I will leave on the world. This is why when I grow old I want to remembered as being bubbly and fun. I will try to do my best at everything I do, but also will live life in the moment. I will try not to let things drag me down and put me in a bad mood. Just saying the word "yes" makes you smile and I hope that one day I can make myself smile as well as everyone I encounter. I think the laugh of someone is the greatest thing you can get from them because it spreads joy everywhere. I want to plant the seed of laughter, joy, and happiness and make everyone around me ecstatic.

I also want to be remembered for the things I hope to accomplish in my life. I have high goals and hopes for myself and I hope one day I will be remembered by these dreams. I love soccer, horseback riding, and school. I want to be known as a great athlete who accomplished great feats. I hope my grandchildren can look up to me for advice when they play there first soccer game. I hope and dream to be in the olympics, go to a great college, and live a life that makes me happy. I try so hard at everything I do and it would be a great honor if I could be remembered for it. I do all these things for myself as well as my family, so I hope they remember me and my legacy that I have left for them! So, if one day my grandchildren reads this I love you and I hope I left you with a great identity of myself that will make you smile everyday!!!

  • 1/2 a cup of athletic
  • 1 cup of family
  • 1 cup of social
  • A dash of independence
  • A pinch of sass
  • 5 cups of love
To start things off preheat the oven to 360˚. First put family and adventure into a bowl. Then add a cup of social and begin to mix. Adventure is what led you to make this recipe and you are making it for your family and friends. Next add in reliable, this ingredient will make sure that your recipe comes out looking beautiful. Next take out the batter and place it on a flat surface. Add the chunks of happy and fun to the mix and massage them in really well. This will make sure your food isn't bland and that there is a ton of flavor. After adding those in put the batter back in a new bowl and add the athletic, this will make sure your batter is flexible and doesn't stiffen up too hard. Last, but not least add in love. This will not only make your dish the most delicious thing you have ever tasted, but it will fill it with passion and desire. After everything is mixed in thoroughly place it in the oven to bake for 45 minutes. In the meantime mix independence and sass together. This will give you the best looking and tasting topping. After they are done bake place them to cool off. To plate this marvelous masterpiece add on the sass and independence you mixed together and add a glass of milk. Now all you have to do is enjoy and sit by the fire and admire your marvelous christmas tree.

"The Waxwork"

In "The Waxwork" by A.M. Barrage, the protagonists Raymond Hewson is on a quest to spend the night in the Murderer's den at Marriner's Waxworks. The reward of spending the night in den is five pounds of money. Hewson does not want to do this grueling task, but he desperately needs the money for his family. As Hewson sits in the dark and dingy den the wax figures stare him down from all sides making him nervous. There is one wax figure in particular that gives him the creeps, Mr. Bourdettte. A small Frenchman who slashes people's necks and is the only murderer that was not hung. Hewson begins to hallucinate as Mr. Bourdette steps off his pedestal and walks towards him. Hewson is in pure fear and shock as Mr. Bourdette threatens to slash his throat, but it seems that the fear has already beat him to it. Hewson was found cold and dead in the Murderer's den without a single cut on him. Writers are very imaginative and some are so imaginative it can even kill them.

As Hewson sits there in the den he is nervous, frightened, and absolutely terrified. Hewson is very uncomfortable and wants to leave, but he can't because he needs the money to support his family. He is trying to tough it out to prove to himself that he is not an unsuccessful, worthless man. As the wax figures stare him down he starts to tremble, his heart is racing, and he believes that the figures move each time he looks away. He is in disbelief of what is happening and is starting to see things. In this situation I believe that I would have done the same exact thing as Hewson did, I would have just left earlier. I understand that he needs the money very desperately, but he can find other ways to get it. I would have been in pure shock as well, but when i reached the point where i was about to break I would have left. Supporting your family is very important but if you die trying to support them that will not help them in any way.

Changing the World My Way

  • Making That Change Now
Whats up fellow colleagues, how are we doing today?  In this blog I will be giving my opinion on what we need to change in the world today. This could mean to start a revolution, war, or even social movement. Lets get started on changing the world!!!

  • I would first like to cover the main topic that I believe could make a huge impact on our world. This topic is equality for women all around the world.
  • If you think about it do you have the same rights as the man sitting next you? When you are at work do the men get paid the same amount of money as you do? Now, I completely understand that if you are in a higher paying job you will get paid more than a person with a lower paying job.
  • Though say you are in a movie and you have the same amount of lines, costumes, and make-up as the guy playing the other role and they get paid more than you. Is that fair?

I believe that equality should be worldwide in everything you do. I completely understand that it is hard to get the word across, but if a video can go viral in an hour, so can this.
WE NEED TO MAKE A STATEMENT TO ALL WOMEN OUT THERE!!!
You are free to be who ever you want to be and if you want to be a shadow, so be it. But if you want to be the leader and the one who rises upon all the others to help change the world, then DO IT. Don't be afraid to be shamed. Do this for yourself and all other women out their who need this confidence.

Even celebrities have equality issues. Ask yourself, why do all of these men get paid more money for doing the same job as the women do?

Most the world is run by men, such as the presidents, members of congress, heads of businesses, households, etc. But do we want to live our lives in the back of line? I don't think so sisters!!!
Give me equality, or give me more equality!!!
The One and Only,
Julia

Julia-Topia

Good day, good day fellow bloggers here I will be sharing my opinion of what a perfect society or utopia would be made of. Before I begin I would just like to say that I do not believe in a "perfect society" I think it is just an overrated label. Nothing is perfect, it’s whats perfect to you that matters.
  • I would first start out with a city-state utopia, so I do not start out too big. Starting smaller would allow me to make sure everything is as perfect as can be before I enlarge it into say a global utopia.
  • The goal of my utopia would be to spread equality and understanding. I want it to be a place where people can live their lives happily without any major conflict. It would be a place to call home.
  • All people are welcome to my utopia. Though because I am starting out small, not all people can join at the beginning. For now, I would just accept the most intelligent bunch to get the place running. After that, I would allow everyone else in. I just don’t want to let everyone in at one with a system that would cause a dystopia.

    Dystopia
Utopia

  • The schools in Julia-Topia would be high standard. We are raising the people to take over our country some day. They would get a full, enriching education that will help them succeed throughout their lives. In the start of my utopia, there will be many kindergartens, elementary schools, high schools, and colleges. All of high quality because we wouldn’t want anything less.
  • Julia-Topia is also known as freedom, I say. You can believe whatever you want to believe and practice whatever you want to practice. There will be many different types of churches and different religious things. Diversity is unique and Julia-Topia is a unique place. It’s also very exciting to learn about other people’s religions and cultures.
  • The architecture in Julia-Topia can range from apartment buildings to regular houses to mansions. This will allow people to pick whatever place they feel best suited in. The layout of my utopia will be slightly modern, but unique and clean.
  • I will be the president of this utopia and there will be a government. Though I am giving the people a large amount of say of what goes on, as long as it passes through the government without issue. I really hate the idea of people living their lives with no money on the streets. So, everyone will have a sufficient amount of money though some may have more or less than others depending on their lifestyle, but no one will never be broke.
  • My-Topia will be sure to also have fun accessories along the way too. These will range from everywhere to anywhere, for example like a drama program, the beach, arts and crafts center, sports, and many more.
  • The technology will be at its highest point here. We are entering a world that is becoming more technology based, so I want my citizens to be up to date with everything that is happening. This does not mean that I want them to be glued to the technology at all times, though.
  • Restaurants in Julia-Topia will only consist of a very small amount of fast food restaurants. I want to keep my citizens healthy and I will do that by giving them healthy and delicious food, not scientifically modified food.
  • If there is any type of problem in My-Topia the person will first try to work it out themselves, but if it is beyond their control they will go to the government. There we can help solve their problems in an orderly fashion, so the person can continue living their life happily.
Thank you so much and I hope you enjoyed my opinion on a “perfect society”. Even though there is really no such thing as a "perfect society" we can make it perfect if we just all work together.

Peace and Out, Julia
