"Fire in the Bush" by James Warwick

Jerry Armytage is the mother of two children, who live peacefully in the Australian Outback. One day Jerry is looking upon the land and sees an unfamiliar haze in the distance, which she soon realizes to be fire. Her husband is out of town and her actions will determine if her family and animals live or die. She acts quickly and brings everyone to a creek where they will be safe and while doing so they watch the fire destroy everything they love.

Jerry grew up in the state of solitude, so she never feels lonely, just alone. Her husband is out of town and although she has Mary, the black ginn, she is basically all to herself. As the story continues on Jerry realizes that what she does will determine if herself, her family, friends, and animals survive this fire. She puts on a strong face and pushes through the terror because it is up to her to save the day. All by herself she herds the animals to the river, especially the sheep because that is their prize possession. Without the sheep, the shearing will not come to the farm and they will not make any money. The fire ignites something inside Jerry to become fearless because if she doesn't, all of them will die. She breaks out of her solitude and acts with terror and hope to bring everything to safety. An event in my past that has transformed me was deciding whether to come to Laguna Blanca or La Colina Jr. High. This was a very difficult decision for me because most of my friends went to La Colina, but Laguna seemed so intriguing. I am very glad about the decision I made because it overall made me a better person. Laguna helped me become more confident and make close friends rather than just having acquaintances. It allowed and still allows me to express my personality without being ashamed to do so. Overall in life, there are decisions that will change the rest of your life in a split second.

My Family and I

My parents have taught me many things in life and from this, I have become who I am. My parents and I are similar in the way that we have very strong opinions. We like to get what we want even if it takes a lot of work. We are also alike in the way that we are a very athletic based family. Together we enjoy to ride horses and play soccer. My father and I are very alike in the way that we both eat, breath, and sleep soccer. My mother and I are both very girly and we love to discuss everything about what is happening in the world and fashion. Lastly, we are similar in the way that we all have a positive attitude for the future. Some ways that I am different from my parents is that they have many different kinds of interests than I. My mother is an amazing painter/hairstylists and my dad is a phenomenal fisherman/businessman. Although I find these interesting, I like to do other things for my hobbies. We are also different in the way that we have different personalities. My father is the funniest person I know and my mother is the sweetest person I know. Even though we have similarities and differences we have still grown to be a very strong, loving family.

Overall, I feel that my relationship with my parents has evolved tremendously over the years. I have grown up now, so I am able to talk about real life things with them. This allows me to have a much closer bond with them than when I was little. My relationship with my mom has evolved because she has taught me so much about life and being a girl. When I was younger I was a tomboy, so you could say we didn't have much in common. My relationship with my dad has also evolved tremendously because I have started playing soccer again. As I said before we are both love the sport, so this allows us to connect over something. We often have to travel places for soccer so we have spent many hours talking and singing in the car. My relationship has grown so much over the years with my parents it's astounding, but it is what I learned with them along the way that I will keep forever. From my parents, I have learned that it is okay to make mistakes because in the end the outcome will always turn out okay. I have also learned to always be on time to things because punctuality is key. They taught me to do my very best at everything I do even if my best isn't good enough. Most of all they taught me how to be kind. My parents have taught me so many life lessons over the years and because of this I never take them for granted. My family is my rock and I know that they will always be there for me. I am thankful for the parents I have and am also thankful how close I am to them because it.

The Way to Success Through Education

Long time no see fellow googlie bears!!! Today I will be writing about the innovation I think has changed the world the most.

There are many things that have been created in this world that have made it a better and more functional place. The one innovation that I think has transformed the world the most is education. Education enables people to learn and perform the things that have made our world what it is today. Education is what led people to make fire, write the Declaration of Independence, and be able to survive. It is how we created our government, culture, and society so it all works functionally. Without education everything would be out of order and chaotic. Education is power and with power you can create and do things that lead the world to new things. People who created the computer or the phone had to be educated in order to do so. People who have built sixty story sky scrapers had to be educated so the buildings would not fall. Even people who make sandwiches have to educated to not put the cheese on top of the bun. Education is everywhere and with it, it has led us to communicate and have a functional world. Education is the base of everything and it has and still will lead us to a bigger and brighter future!!!

What do you think is the most important innovation that has happened in our world?????????
